The video shows groups coping with a strong westerly gale at around 750m on the north flanks of Plynlimon. Although it looks fun, this wind proved tiring and impeded progress for the hikers (i.e. “gale force”); we were also slightly sheltered at this point and would have become more exposed on the summit ridge, experiencing even higher winds. We therefore abandoned all high routes on this day and descended into the relative calm of the Hafren forest.
