Two pioneering canoe groups from Reigate Grammar took an adventurous journey down the River Wye and Severn for their Gold canoe training and qualifying expeditions. They found it rewarding and challenging, on one occasion paddling over 45km in one day! They became a superb team together and the photos show what a great adventure they had. Well done all and I hope this encourages others to take up the amazing opportunity of canoeing for their DofE award scheme which is available as an expedition option for Bronze, Silver and Gold award groups.
RGS Bronze and Silver students embarked on expeditions on an exceptionally cold and wet May 24. The canoe group of 8 completed training on the Basingstoke Canal and camped at Mytchett. 20 4th year students completed Bronze expeditions locally. All groups did well to cope with the bad weather on Friday.
This weekend pioneering Bronze students completed paddle training with Dynamic Adventures. They were training for their Bronze canoe adventure which is later this month. Canoe training was completed on Tilgate Lake, Crawley and the River Wey in Godalming. Students enjoyed tremendous weather. Well done! (Many thanks to Rob Crossing for sending in these brilliant pictures).
